New this year we are excited to debut a new award. This will be the Vertex Retailer of the Year award. The honor is given to two retailers who achieve the highest overall score based on their winning entries. We have split the globe into two broad regions, and each region will have one winner. The winner from North America, Central America, and South America will receive their award at the Velocity conference in the United States. The winner from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Oceania, and Africa will receive their award at the Velocity Europe conference October 22, 2019, in Lisbon, Portugal.

This year, Ahold Delhaize owned Dutch grocer Albert Heijn received a total of four Vertex Awards. The four Gold winning entries represent the largest number of wins by any retailer in this year’s contest as well as the highest cumulative score from any retailer in the world.
